  1.                            WELCOME TO MOONBASE
  2.  
  3.        Thank you for purchasing MOONBASE!!!
  4.  
  5.                First of all, take the time to fill out the                        registration form in the front of your manual and send it in.
  6.  
  7.                Please refer to the paper insert in the box on 
  8.        installation instructions and additional information at the
  9.        end of this readme about installing MOONBASE on your hard drive.
  10.        
  11.        New features for Amiga MOONBASE not documented in the
  12.        MOONBASE manual or changed from the current information.
  13.  
  14.        --->    Power/Thermal gauges - by either clicking on the
  15.                button in the lower left corner of the main window,
  16.                or by selecting Power/Thermal gauges from the
  17.                OPERATIONS menu, you can pull up a requester box
  18.                that shows gauges for power and thermal control.
  19.                When the needles are in the red, you need more
  20.                power or thermal control. In addition, the images
  21.                on the button will flash when your moonbase requires
  22.                more power or thermal control structures.

  24.        --->    New Cursor - the cursor (when over the lunar 
  25.                surface part of the main window) now shows the
  26.                locations of the airlocks and power/thermal connectors
  27.                of the currently selected tool. The airlocks appear
  28.                as small dash marks coming in from the outer edges
  29.                of the cursor outline. The power/thermal connector
  30.                is shown as a small square in on corner of the cursor.

  32.        --->    Pause Mode - by either clicking on the button in the
  33.                lower right corner of the main window (with the 'P'
  34.                on it) or by selecting Pause from the SETUP menu,
  35.                you can pause the simulation. Pressing the OK button
  36.                in the resulting requester box will resume normal
  37.                play.
  38.  
  39.        --->    Menu Hotkeys - many of the selections in the menus
  40.                can be invoked via normal keys from the keyboard
  41.                making access to frequently used requester boxes
  42.                easier.

  44.        --->    Rotate Lab - The Labratory tool can be toggled
  45.                between the vertical and horizontal orientation
  46.                by clicking with the right mouse button while in
  47.                the lunar surface part of the main window.
  48.  
  49.        --->    Cancel button for the Sell and Budget requester
  50.                boxes. By clicking on the cancel button in either
  51.                requester, all operations done since opening the
  52.                requester will be canceled.

  54.        --->    Drag and Draw - while in the lunar surface part of
  55.                the main window, it is possible to Drag and draw
  56.                with any tool in straight lines. This is especially
  57.                helpfull while laying down Roads, Pipes, or Power cable.
  58.                To use this feature, click and hold the left mouse
  59.                button down while also holding down either shift
  60.                key on the keyboard, then drag the mouse in the 
  61.                direction you wish to lay down tools. The direction
  62.                that you first move in will be the axis upon which
  63.                the tools will be placed along.

  65.     MOONBASE is not copy protected in any shape or form, and
  66.     was developed on and runs just fine on an Amiga 3000.
  67.  
  68.     Additional information about installing MOONBASE on a hard
  69.     drive.

  71.     MOONBASE requires some fonts and library files in order
  72.     to operate. The installation instructions tell you to
  73.     just drag the Fonts and Libs drawers into your hard drive
  74.     partition window. This will copy all the fonts and libraries
  75.     files from the distribution disk into your fonts and libs drawers
  76.     on your hard drive. Some of the fonts and library files may
  77.     already exist on your hard drive. If you don't want the files
  78.     on the distribution disk to overwrite existing files on your
  79.     hard disk, then open a cli or shell and copy the files you don't
  80.     have on your hard disk manually from the floppy.
  81.     The files that MOONBASE requires from the fonts and libs drawers
  82.     are:
  83.         From the Libs drawer
  84.  
  85.          diskfont.library
  86.         mathtrans.library
  87.         iff.library (if you want the logo screen to appear)
  88.  
  89.         From the Fonts drawer
  90.  
  91.         info.font and the file in the info drawer
  92.         ticker.font and the file in the ticker drawer
  93.         times.font and the files in the times drawer
  94.         sapphire.font and the file in the sapphire drawer
  95.  
  96.     Any of the files that you don't have on your hard disk, just
  97.     copy them from the distribution disk.
